Samsung Electronics Philippines introduces its WindFree air conditioners, which use (artificial intelligence) AI technology to help reduce energy consumption by up to 20%, offering an efficient solution for homeowners managing electricity costs. The new line aims to combine comfort and energy efficiency.
“At Samsung, our goal is to develop meaningful AI technology that truly makes daily lives better,” said Dale Lovely, head of the Air-Conditioners Business for Samsung Electronics Philippines. “We seek to make home living more efficient and comfortable through our AI-powered appliances, which extends to our air conditioners developed with energy-reducing technology.”
The WindFree air conditioners include ECO Mode, a feature that adjusts cooling performance based on external temperature, room occupancy, and indoor conditions. This enables the units to use less compressor capacity, resulting in lower energy consumption.
Users can also benefit from the SmartThings Energy feature, which monitors and manages energy usage. The system can notify users if their energy consumption exceeds set limits and adjust the air conditioner’s settings to stay on track. SmartThings sends reminders if the air conditioner is left running while the user is away.
The SmartThings AI Energy Mode identifies inefficiencies in usage patterns, preventing energy waste.
Samsung’s innovation responds to the growing concern over rising electricity bills while maintaining home comfort. By integrating technology and energy efficiency, the company aims to offer a practical solution for households.
