France 24 brings you all the news from Africa with France 24’s correspondents and guests on set.
The Sudanese army and its supporters are celebrating nationwide after reclaiming the Presidential Palace in Khartoum. Friday’s victory marks the army’s most symbolic achievement since launching a major counteroffensive against the Rapid Support Forces last September.
Meanwhile the two-year-old war continues to push civilians into exile. Neighbouring Chad has a long tradition being a refuge for Sudanese people fleeing violence. So much so that some who fled the 2003 war in Sudan are now crossing paths with those who’ve only just arrived. And resources are stretched thin.
Also in the programme, we visit the school in Zimbabwe where newly-elected International Olympic Committee President Kirsty Coventry trained as a teen swimmer – and meet the young athletes she’s inspiring.
And we visit a major exhibition in Paris that champions the Black artists who made 20th century Paris a vibrant pan-African intellectual hub.
