As part of the Organic Synthesis course, 11 graduate students from Cal State Fullerton’s Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry had the opportunity to visit Pfizer Laboratories in La Jolla. They were accompanied by Stevan Pecic, CSUF associate professor of chemistry and biochemistry.
Paul Richardson, director of the medicinal chemistry division, hosted the visit and provided students with an insightful tour of the structural biology and medicinal chemistry facilities. CSUF students had the chance to network with Pfizer scientists and explore cutting-edge technologies, instruments and techniques used in modern biomedical research and drug discovery processes.
