Guillermo Del Campo
Technical Coordinator, IoT Laboratory of Madrid (IoTMADLab)
Dr. Guillermo del Campo is the Technical Coordinator of the IoT Laboratory of Madrid (IoTMADLab), a joint initiative from the Madrid City Council and the Technical University of Madrid (UPM) and funded by Forum of Companies for Madrid. The goal of the IoTMADLab is to define IoT connectivity framework so that all Municipal Areas have a reference and know the real possibilities of these technologies. Besides, the laboratory provides a physical place where IoT devices from any technology provider can be tested in a neutral way, guaranteeing a secure and interoperable configuration so that it can be scalable.
Guillermo received his PhD degree from UPM in 2017 in the visible light communications field, and is currently serving as the director of the Energy Efficiency and Internet of Things Group at CEDINT-UPM. He has participated in more than 25 R&D projects on energy efficiency and smart environments since 2009. He is an author of more than 30 scientific journals and conference papers. His current research areas of interest deal with IoT networks, smart cities, building energy consumption analysis, energy saving measures and user behavior, and optical communications.
Valentina Taddeo
Marketing and Communication Leader and Strategic Relationship Coordinator, Paradox Engineering
Valentina Taddeo works as Marketing and Communication Leader and Strategic Relationship Coordinator at Paradox Engineering SA, the R&D centre for the Japanese Group MinebeaMitsumi. She holds two master’s degrees, and she has an extensive experience in marketing & communication and customer relations in the aviation industry and in the smart cities’ ecosystem.
Valentina has held the position of Executive Director of the uCIFI Alliance from April 2023 until December 2024, when the alliance merged into the Open Mobile Alliance. Currently she is collaborating closely with OMA Board of Directors and the newly created Smart City Working Group to support the further development of a unified data model for smart cities.
Matthew Gillmore
Associate Director of Strategic Standards, Office of the CTO, Itron
Matt is an Itron Idea Labs Entrepreneur In Residence and works in the CTO office with the Strategic Industry Standards team. He hails from a utility background and has participated in notable strategic industry group initiatives including SGIP, IETF, IEEE and Zigbee.
