Ethiopian Airlines Connects Africa to Porto with New Service Featuring Madrid Stop, Offering Enhanced Connectivity Across Europe Starting July 2025 – Travel And Tour World

Ethiopian Airlines, Africa’s largest carrier and one of the world’s fastest-growing aviation brands, is excited to announce the launch of a new passenger route to Porto, Portugal, starting July 2, 2025. This new service will feature a convenient single stop in Madrid, Spain, and is designed to expand Ethiopian Airlines’ presence across Europe, offering enhanced travel options and seamless connectivity for passengers in the region.
The new route will be serviced four times a week by the state-of-the-art B787 Dreamliner, following this schedule:

Flight ET740 will depart from Addis Ababa every Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday at 23:10, arriving in Madrid at 05:55 the following day. From Madrid, the flight will continue to Porto, departing at 06:55 and arriving at 07:15.
Flight ET741 will take off from Porto every Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday at 19:55, arriving in Madrid at 21:10. After a brief stop, the flight will depart Madrid at 23:10, landing in Addis Ababa at 07:25 the next day.

This new service marks a significant step forward in Ethiopian Airlines’ efforts to strengthen its European network while providing travelers with even more opportunities to explore Portugal and beyond.

Ethiopian Airlines has been offering flight services to Lisbon, Portugal’s capital, through codeshare agreements with London, Milan, and other nearby cities. The airline currently operates around 140 weekly passenger flights across Europe, connecting to 22 destinations, alongside 8 cargo destinations in the region. With the launch of this new passenger flight service, Ethiopian Airlines further strengthens its presence in Europe, enhancing its connectivity and reinforcing the bonds between the two regions and beyond.
