Ultahost is off to a rocky start with ICANN.The words "Breach Notice" in red block letters on black background One of ICANN’s newest domain name registrars is already in breach of its accreditation agreement, just months after signing it.
Today, ICANN notified (pdf) Ultahost, Inc., that it is in breach of the agreement and must cure the breach within 21 days.
Ultahost signed its accreditation agreement in September and was assigned IANA#4331. As of the end of October, it had no .com registrations. However, the company has been around much longer as a web host.
The company seems serious about selling domain names; in January, it filed a U.S. trademark application for its brand and the identification “domain name registrar services.”
ICANN says it has run afoul of, well, a lot of things. It hasn’t adequately responded to an abuse request, provided records to ICANN upon reasonable notice of abuse, implemented RDAP, submitted escrow deposits on time, and provided required disclosures on its website.
