On Tuesday, Utrecht-based Undagrid, a provider of wireless location and asset monitoring technologies, announced that it has been acquired by EnOcean, the German company known for energy-harvesting wireless technology for the Internet of Things (IoT).
By combining Undagrid’s AI-driven technologies with EnOcean’s energy-harvesting products, the companies can offer scalable asset tracking and monitoring services and platforms that accelerate digital transformation across these sectors.
The Dutch company’s technology enhances operational efficiency by providing real-time insights into asset usage.
Currently, the company’s solutions are already deployed by customers such as Lufthansa, and DHL, and at numerous airports worldwide.
With the integration of energy-efficient EnOcean sensors, these solutions can now become even smarter, resulting in more sustainable and efficient airports and processes.
Led by Rolf van de Velde, Undagrid provides wireless location and asset monitoring technologies, leveraging AI and IoT to deliver real-time insights.
“With EnOcean as a strategic partner, we can take our technology to new heights and continue innovating to transform advanced asset management,” says Rolf van de Velde, CEO of Undagrid.
“Our combined solutions will help airlines, airports, logistics companies, and other organisations reduce operational costs, improve customer experiences, and contribute to a more sustainable future,” adds van de Velde.
Based in Germany, EnOcean is a wireless technology company that employs energy harvesting for the Internet of Things (IoT).
Their self-powered sensors and devices are used across many industries, such as smart buildings, logistics, and manufacturing, helping to create more sustainable and efficient solutions.
“This acquisition enables EnOcean to further expand and scale its IoT solutions, allowing us to better support our customers with smart, energy-efficient sensors and data analytics. We are excited to enter new markets together with Undagrid and accelerate the transformation of airports and buildings worldwide,” says Raoul Wijgergangs, CEO of EnOcean.
