Put simply, quality or disquality of life indicates the experiences that shape the citizens’ daily lives whether positive or negative.
When it comes to the quality of life in the African continent, South Africa continues to dominate the top five chart.

The list was compiled using an aggregate score and considered a host of factors.
This included purchasing power index, healthcare index, safety index, property price to income ratio, healthcare index, pollution index, climate index and traffic commute time.
The higher each city scored the better the quality of life these regions have with a comparative tool evaluating the contrast when it comes to living standards in different places in the world.

Notable changes in this year’s Quality of Life Index saw Casablanca in Morocco making its way into the top five, while both Kenya and Nairobi fell off the ranking list when compared to the 2024 ranking.
Another African spot off the top five rankings includes Nairobi, which was previously listed with a score of 97.4.
According to the list, the top 5 cities in Africa with the highest quality of life include:
5 Casablanca in Morocco with a score of 95.2
4 Johannesburg in South Africa with a score of 141.8
3 Durban in South Africa with a score of 149.0
2 Pretoria in South Africa with a score of 157.9
1 Cape Town in South Africa with a score of 160.2
