ICANN re-accepts '.xxx' domain – telegrafi.com

After seven years of discussions and postponements, the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) has once again given final approval for the controversial ‘.xxx’ domain. But we still have to wait to see if the domain will actually be accepted in the end.
In fact, the ‘.xxx’ domain was first officially accepted by ICANN in 2005, but in the end it did not pass due to the reaction of the US Government.
Against such a domain are both the porn industry and the groups that fight against pornography.
Porn industries fear the additional costs of registering and maintaining new domains, so they expect most states to block them.
On the other hand, groups that fight against pornography do not like it, because it creates an official center for pornography. /Telegraph/
