In a significant leap towards smarter utility management, the Research and Development Centre of the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has unveiled a cutting-edge application. This smart app harnesses the power of the Internet of Things (IoT) to automate the dispatch of field crews, promising to improve alarm management and on-site troubleshooting.
The digital platform stands out for its ability to slash response times significantly by automating the selection and deployment of the closest available teams. This ensures efficient handling of faults, allowing for the swift restoration of the system to optimal functionality.
Additionally, the application produces real-time reports, with comprehensive tabular summaries detailing crew dispatch details, fault specifics, and restoration procedures. Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD and CEO of DEWA, emphasized that the R&D Centre is a leading force in innovation, providing its team with cutting-edge technology and facilities that contribute to the global scientific community.
