Jake Mapping has created three maps – the first looking at West Africa from the year 690:
The second map looks at the Horn of Africa area from ancient times, with year-by-year coverage starting in 896:
The third map just focuses on Morocco, beginning in the year 744:
Finally, we return to Ollie Bye, who created this video to track the Mali Empire between the years 1235 and 1610:
