Electrification and technology focus of upcoming IID Public Workshop – The Desert Review

Imperial Irrigation District invites representatives of public agencies, municipalities, counties, school districts, tribes, and the public to a strategic workshop focusing on California’s electrification mandates and the role of cutting-edge technologies and federal funding in addressing these challenges. As the public power provider for Imperial County and parts of southeastern Riverside County, IID is at the forefront of strategic planning for future electrification.
“IID is coordinating with local agencies to ensure a seamless transition to an electrified future,” said Jamie Asbury, General Manager. “We aim to highlight the importance of advanced planning and robust communication as we tackle these significant changes together.”
The workshop will take place on Thursday, April 25, from 10 to 11:30 a.m. in the IID Boardroom at 81-600 Avenue 58, La Quinta. Discussions will cover a range of topics including California’s climate and clean energy goals, strategies for enhancing energy efficiency, the customer project process, and the development of electric vehicle infrastructure.
This event is part of a series of additional workshops planned by IID as the district navigates the complexities of electrification mandates. All stakeholders are encouraged to participate and contribute to this important conversation.
