Centre-right parties threaten to punish universities that fail to act robustly
Germany’s centre-right parliamentary groups have tabled a motion demanding a funding freeze for universities “that do not take consistent action against antisemitism”.
The German Christian Democrat party and the Christian Social Union in Bavaria, which have a political alliance, are also insisting that the federal government work “towards preventing the activities of the anti-Israel Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) movement in education, science and research”.
