Business Insider Edition
Nigerian artist Davido has entered the executive phase of his career, launching his label Nine+ Records in collaboration with UnitedMasters.
UnitedMasters announced their groundbreaking collaboration with Davido on April 18, 2024, through their official Instagram page.
With the guidance of Steve Stoute, CEO of UnitedMasters, the new label won’t be limited to Afrobeats but will venture into the realms of hip-hop, R&B, Latin, country and more, casting a wide net for new talent.
United Masters called the partnership transformative for the African music industry that will see one of the continent’s most influential figures propel the careers of emerging artists to unprecedented heights.
Davido expressed his excitement about collaborating with United Masters, marking a thrilling new chapter for both emerging and established artists worldwide.
In an interview with Billboard, he stated, “There’s one thing that I’ll always love, which is nurturing new talent, bringing them up and helping them grow,”
“My job is obviously to bring the creatives and deliver, but I do need Steve’s vision on how I’m going to advise on these new artists,” he said.
Davido joins the ranks of Nigerian artists partnering with United Masters, following the company’s collaboration with Sarz Academy in 2023.
Davido’s new record label Nine+ follows the recent rebranding of DMW 2.0. He recently recorded a landmark feat after he became only the third Nigerian artist to headline the famous Madison Square Garden in a sold-out concert.
