Venture capital markets resilient in Africa and Middle East – The Banker

Venture capital deal growth rates in Africa and the Middle East reached their third-highest level last year in nearly a decade, according to the latest Trends in Global Tech report from the Global Private Capital Association.
The report found that VC investments in the African continent reached $1.1bn in 2023, a 1000 per cent increase since the association began tracking data in 2016. Meanwhile the Middle East registered a $1.5bn in VC deal value last year, up 114 per cent from 2016.
