Telkomsel has partnered with Singtel to introduce Indonesia’s first orchestration platform for 5G and edge cloud computing, built on Singtel Paragon.
The collaboration will make 5G technology more accessible to Indonesian enterprises and aligns with the commitment to leverage 5G to accelerate digital transformation and support Industry 4.0.
Paragon is being touted as the first all-in-one orchestration platform for 5G technology, with its higher speed, reliability and capabilities such as network slicing, which aims to accelerate enterprise digital transformation globally.
The marketplace significantly reduces the complexity, cost and time needed to deploy and manage low latency applications and services, lowering the barriers to entry for enterprises to adopt 5G.
The platform will be available through Telkomsel’s enterprise business unit.
“We are excited to collaborate with Singtel to integrate the Paragon platform into our enterprise product portfolio, enabling Telkomsel Enterprise to offer a broader and more holistic range of connectivity solutions to drive the adoption of 5G and Edge Cloud Computing for corporations and industries, especially those in the manufacturing, mining, logistics, and healthcare where high-speed data processing with low latency is crucial,” Telkomsel planning and transformation director Wong Soon Nam said.

Singtel’s Digital InfraCo CEO Bill Chang said enterprises globally are actively embracing 5G and edge computing to strengthen their competitiveness, capitalise on emerging opportunities and enable digital transformation powered by 5G.
“Paragon has been at the forefront of this revolution with a growing ecosystem of telcos and technology partners globally, by making the adoption of 5G and edge computing and applications easier, faster and less costly for enterprises,” Chang said.

Singtel has also brought Fortinet’s cyber security solutions to the Paragon platform marketplace, combining advanced network capabilities with Fortinet’s security technologies, including its FortiGate VM Next Generation Firewall, to offer plug and-play cyber security solutions to Singtel Paragon enterprise users.
By extending the Fortinet Security Fabric to Singtel’s Paragon Platform, customers will gain new options for secure deployment of 5G and Multi-Access Edge computing applications.
“Enterprises worldwide face a growing threat from increasingly sophisticated bad actors. To mitigate the risk of their intellectual property and customers’ personal data being peddled on the dark web, a resilient cyber security posture is a business imperative,” Chang said.

Fortinet A/NZ, SEA and India VP of sales, Vishak Raman said with Singtel, it was reinforcing existing defences but also innovating to address the evolving threats in the digital and 5G domains.

Fortinet’s security solutions will undergo evaluation and validation within Singtel’s 5G security lab to ensure that Paragon customers receive reliable and effective security solutions, ready for immediate deployment.
