It’s a relatively dry day in the world of tech as people get into a festive spirit ahead of New Year’s eve. But that doesn’t mean the news well is empty. First up, a Cybertruck has got into an accident on a California highway – and surprisingly, has held up pretty well it seems. Then there a couple of new software launches from Microsoft. Let’s take a look.
After releasing on Android devices earlier, Microsoft’s AI-powered chatbot Copilot is now available on iPhones and iPads too. Copilot runs on GPT-4 and allows users to get answers, draft emails, create articles and more using natural language prompts. The app offers the full potential of GPT-4, unlike the limited ChatGPT which charges a fee.
GitHub has opened its AI assistant Copilot Chat to all developers beyond beta testing. Available in Microsoft IDEs and GitHub plans, Copilot Chat lets programmers use natural language to get real-time guidance while coding. The AI model aims to enable “natural language” as the new programming language.
The Cybertruck seems to have held up quite well in its first reported accident since November 30 when deliveries started. Pictures circulating online show a crashed 2023 Tesla Cybertruck following an accident with a Toyota on a highway near Palo Alto. The Cybertruck sustained damage but protected occupants, with only minor injuries reported, according to The Verge.
