E-discovery is a perennial favorite topic among LTN readers, and that was as true as ever in 2023. No strangers to having to master new technologies, e-discovery professionals were quick to consider the implications of generative AI, among other technological developments like Slack, Teams and other short messaging platforms. E-discovery technology also had its ups and downs in the past year, as several providers announced new, generative AI-powered tools, while some lawyers continued to make simple yet significant mistakes and ignore available protections, raising questions about overall attorney e-discovery incompetence.
