Ministries' projects nominated for WSIS Prize 2020 Contest – The Peninsula

The Ministry of Education and Higher Education has been nominated for the prizes of the 9th contest of the World Summit on the Information Society 2020, which is organised by the International Telecommunications Union (ITU) in Geneva, Switzerland.
The Ministry’s project titled ‘Centralised Connectivity in the Schools Network (CCSN)’ has qualified for category 2 prizes. It enables the Ministry to have a high speed centralised, monitored, secure, reliable and scalable internet infrastructure for all the public schools and preschools nationwide.
Tariq Al Emadi, Director of Information Technology, delivered an introduction to the nominated project during the WSIS Prizes 2020 Awards ceremony, which was held yesterday.
Two additional projects submitted by Qatar have been nominated for the WSIS Prizes 2020. These include C7: Open Data Policy and Portal, submitted by the Ministry of Transport and Communications and C8: Multi Languages Electronic Labour Contract System, submitted by the Ministry of Administrative Development, Labour and Social Affairs. There are 18 winning projects and 72 champion projects that will be recognised at the WSIS Forum 2020.
