Early this year, DNS Africa and the concerned Multistakeholder Ecosystem organized the first of its kind Nigeria DNS Academy, a domestication of the Africa DNS Academy powered by like-minds. It was tailored to address the need for Media and Business to understand why security online should not be taken for granted.
We are proud to have been selected to pioneer within Africa an opportunity to discuss and annex a solution on encryption. With the grant comes the responsibility to deliver on “Encryption: Toolkits and Interventions by the Media”. The event is slated for Saturday, October 22, 2022 by 10.00am (West African Time)
It will be a virtual Webinar for journalist and bloggers in Africa to share a Media Toolkit for beginner’s and professionals in the field of communication and journalism. This will help to share a researched toolkit on protection and sharing of data, available software, and guidelines to layout as a security measure. A resource depository link will be created and managed with a stakeholder perspective.

Global Encryption Day is an opportunity to tell governments around the world that protecting and strengthening encryption is crucial to making the Internet safer for their citizens.
The Media Toolkit Campaign will educate the Fourth Estate across Africa on the value of encryption while advocating to governments and citizens on the importance for users to use end-to-end encrypted services. The toolkit will also lay emphasis on what needs to be done as best practice for governments to strengthen encryption, and the Internet as a whole.
The DNS Africa Resource Center (DARC) will support the development of Informative, Educative and Communicative (IEC) Materials for distribution, online and offline in Africa and beyond.
