Apple is gearing up for a major design overhaul for the iPhone lineup this year, with reports suggesting significant changes across both standard and Pro models.
According to MacRumors, the upcoming iPhone 17 series will introduce a fresh design language, departing from the incremental updates seen in recent years. Among the most notable changes, the iPhone 17 Air is expected to feature a horizontal, bar-shaped rear camera module, while the Pro models will sport a larger horizontal matrix camera layout.
Leaks also indicate that the iPhone 17 Pro models will adopt a part-aluminium, part-glass rear panel with an aluminium rectangular camera bump, which will be larger than previous iterations and support wireless charging.
Additionally, reports hint at a large foldable iPhone in development, signalling Apple's entry into the foldable smartphone market.
The iPhone 17 lineup is expected to debut in the fall, with Apple likely to unveil the devices at its annual September launch event.
Apple faces setback in Siri overhaul
Apple's plan to introduce an upgraded version of Siri with Apple Intelligence features may face delays due to engineering challenges and software bugs.
According to MacRumors, the company is struggling to finalize the new functionality in time for the iOS 18.4 update. While Apple initially aimed to roll out the revamped Siri with this update, reports now indicate that it won’t be ready when the first beta drops next week.
Apple has previously confirmed that Apple Intelligence will expand to new languages in April, aligning with the expected launch of iOS 18.4. However, some Siri enhancements may now be pushed to May, potentially arriving with an iOS 18.5 update, as per MacRumors.
