The WSIS Awards competition was developed in response to requests from WSIS stakeholders to create an effective mechanism to evaluate projects and activities that harness the power of information and communication technologies (ICT) to promote sustainable development. Since its inception, the WSIS Awards competition has attracted more than 300.000 interested parties.
Following the results of the General Review of the WSIS by the United Nations General Assembly (Res.
