A five-day online training programme on Internet of Things (IoT) concluded at the Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT), Una. The programme was held for trainees from various technical educational institutions and Chandigarh-based National Institute for Technical Teacher’s Training and Research (NITTTR) was also a collaborative institution.
In a press release by IIIT-Una, NITTTR Professor Dr Maitreyee Dutta, who joined virtually during the valedictory session today, highlighted the need to address real-world challenges, explaining the importance of skill development in emerging technologies to meet the demands of the digital economy.
Director of IIIT-Una, Manish Gaur said the institute participated as a remote centre, facilitating student and faculty engagement in project-based learning. The programme, conducted from February 10 to 14, featured expert lectures, hands-on workshops and project-based learning sessions.
Dr Gaur said participants from IIIT-Una and other institutions gained practical insights into IoT technologies, including sensor networks, data analytics and cloud computing, while working on projects that addressed real-world problems such as smart agriculture, healthcare monitoring, and industrial automation.
The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.
